“Companies are trying to deceive you and trick you into buying their products… but here are their secrets so you can outsmart them!”
We’ve all seen propaganda on the internet and elsewhere of people making claims like that.
Over the past year I’ve seen quite a few blog posts pop up on social media claiming there are secret meanings hidden in labels… and the every-day savvy blogger will show you how to find them.
I hate to break the news to anyone who thought they found the Holy Grail to deciphering labels after reading one of these posts, but you’ve been misled. Most of these are based on rumors or just opinions based on a single observation.
With that in mind, I’m here to debunk the Top 3 Rumors I’ve seen floating around recently on the internet: Continue reading “Deciphering Product Labels: 3 Rumors To Ignore…By Callista Bond”

As the 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals have demonstrated, it takes a team effort to achieve every win.
Durvet operates in a similar fashion, as each and every employee is an integral part of the success of our organization. We all “wear many hats” to service our distributor members on a daily basis. Continue reading “Lunch Is Served! A Durvet Tradition Continues…By Rosalie Christopher”

How many of us who own a vehicle have received a notice or at least heard about a vehicle “recall” for some gadget or device?
Over the years the list has grown pretty long from defective air bags to seats that get too hot to trunks that won’t open. Some items seem pretty trivial and some are critically important for our safety.
My brother sells cars and sometimes their used car lot is full of cars that have a “Do Not Sell” sticker because they’re waiting (sometimes for months) for recalled parts to be replaced. It can be very frustrating for all parties involved.
This all-too-common scenario brings me to our industry and how Animal Health companies respond when faced with product failures or defects. Continue reading “Stand Up Or Stick Your Head In The Sand…By Bill Boots”

Hello my name is Kerry and I’m a horse addict! Yes, it’s true… when I come across anything that has to do with a horse, I’m immediately in my happy zone.
I grew up with horses as an important part of my life and was only horse-free for a short period of time…and boy was that boring! I eventually gave in to my feelings of withdrawal and became a happy horse owner again after one very long year. I haven’t been able to kick the habit since.
In fact, I decided to follow my passion and bought a company that made wound care and grooming products for horses, Aloe Advantage. It was truly a great fit because I loved sales, marketing, product development, horses and (for the most part) the horse owners! Continue reading “Finding The Perfect Fit…By Kerry Glakeler”

I don’t always get to make a customer’s week go right, but when I do, it’s completely awesome.
Not long ago I received an email from a customer regarding a DuraMask™ product, which is a Durvet-labeled fly mask. She had purchased two fly masks and the stitching had come out in one of them. She went on to tell me that she didn’t have her receipt. I told her I would be happy to replace the mask and there was no need for her ship the defective mask back to us.
After receiving my email response, she quickly replied back…
“Wow, that’s wonderful!!!! Thank you so much. I’ve used DuraMasks™ for years and years, but I wasn’t really hopeful that you’d be able to help without the receipt. Thank you!!!!” Continue reading “You’ve Got A Loyal Customer For Life…By Kassie Kreissler”

“What do you do in that building out on Adam’s Dairy Parkway?”
This question is not unusual when someone notices a Durvet logo on my shirt when I’m out and about in Blue Springs.
With 43 employees nationwide and only a few that actually live in Blue Springs, it’s not unusual to have them say “I don’t know anyone that works there.”
Durvet was founded in 1970 by a group of animal health distributors as a way to consolidate their purchasing power.
Over the years the company has changed and grown into the largest sales and marketing organization in the animal health industry owned 100% by independent distribution. Continue reading “Welcome To The Durvet Blog!…By Mark Niblo”
